The start of the 2010-11 NBA season at top betting sites gets closer every day. Before the actual games start, basketball bettors are forced to put money on future bets if they want to get their NBA wagering fix.
Several teams are emerging as clear favorites among bettors. The Miami Heat and LA Lakers seem to be everyone’s go to pick.
However, there are several teams that have the potential to win the NBA Championship, but are not seeing a lot of action at sportsbook sites.
NBA Picks Of The Week
Oklahoma City Thunder - The Thunder pushed the Lakers to the limit in the playoffs last year. With another offseason of training, they will come out better than ever this season. Kevin Durant, last season’s NBA scoring champion, leads a squad filled with young, athletic talent.
With Durant and Russell Westbrook, the Thunder will have no problem putting points on the board. While Oklahoma City lacks a true inside presence, they should be able to outrun the majority of teams in the Western Conference. The Thunder, at 15/1 odds to win it all, are a great pick if you want to avoid the clear favorites.
Chicago Bulls – The Bulls banked on getting one of the three big free agents this summer. Unfortunately for the team, LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade spurned their advances and signed with the Miami Heat. However, Chicago was able to sign power forward Carlos Boozer as a consolation prize.
Boozer teams with dynamic point guard Derrick Rose to form one of the best pick and roll combinations in the NBA. The Bulls are currently 18/1 favorites to win the title. If they can stay healthy, the Bulls have a good shot at making bettors a lot of money.
San Antonio Spurs – The grizzled veteran Spurs have the band back together for one last run at the NBA Championship. Tim Duncan, Tony Park and company are aging but still talented. The Spurs currently have 25/1 odds to win it all.
I like them as a dark horse because I think Duncan has one last run in him. For more information and reviews of expert sports betting picks check out the rest of our site.
