Week 8 College Betting Preview

Around the midpoint of the college football season, contenders start to emerge and pretenders start to fall in the rankings. The past two Saturdays have proven that no team is safe. First, top ranked Alabama lost to South Carolina.

Then last Saturday, first ranked Ohio State fell to Wisconsin. While nobody can predict for certain what will happen this weekend, there are a lot of matchups that look ideal for bettors.

Week 8 Picks

Michigan St. vs. Northwestern – Michigan State enters the weekend undefeated and ranked in the top 10. They have rock solid victories over Wisconsin and Michigan.

On the other hand, Northwestern is coming off of a bye and lost its last game to Purdue. Although Northwestern has four wins, the teams they defeated have a combined record of 6-19.

After analyzing the matchup, it is surprising that Michigan State is only favored by five points. Go with the Spartans for a chance at some easy cash at online betting websites this Saturday.

Virginia Tech vs. Duke – Virginia Tech has turned around their season after losing two early games. They have won their last five games by double digit margins, while Duke is floundering again. They have lost three games at home and look to have given up hope on the season. You can easily see why Virginia Tech is favored by 26 points.

Miami vs. North Carolina – Miami enters the game favored by 7 and looking to continue its dominance over North Carolina. The Hurricanes, led by quarterback Jacory Harris, were a popular sleeper team to make it to the BCS National Championship game at the beginning of the season.

Although they slipped up a bit, they should have the capability to defeat North Carolina. To make matters worse for the Tarheels, they are playing shorthanded due to having several suspended key players.
