Two long time AFC East rivals will get together in Foxboro for the right to play in the AFC title game. The sixth seed out of the AFC – New York Jets – fresh off their win in Indianapolis will take on the top seeded New England Patriots. These two teams played twice during the regular season, with the home team winning both games.

In week two, the Jets downed the Patriots 28-14. Tom Brady and his crew for New England bounced back in week 13 with a 45-3 thrashing on Monday Night Football. The Patriots finished the season with a 14-2 record, while the Jets finished second in the AFC East; at 10-6.

Former Cleveland Browns receiver Braylon Edwards led the team in receptions with 53, and also touchdowns; 7. The Jets finished the regular season losing three of their last five: Patriots, Dolphins and Bears.
New England has been absolute dominate late in the season. The Patriots have won their last eight games on the season; averaging 37.3 points per game in those wins. Tom Brady will likely win yet another MVP award this season. The quarterback threw for 3900 yards and 36 touchdowns on the season. Despite losing former All Star Randy Moss during the regular season, Brady found a ton of weapons in his receiving core.
Wes Welker led the Patriots in receptions (86) and touchdowns (7). Danny Woodhead, who was a huge asset in the back field for the Patriots is questionable for the game, after suffering a concussion in week 17 against the Bills. Outside of the loss to the Jets, the other loss for New England came against Cleveland.
This game seems to have a very high spread. This game will be close; there is no question about that. Rex Ryan hates the Patriots and their coaching staff. There is no doubt he will have his team prepared for this game. New England comes into this game as a 9 point favorite. Look for this game to finish within a score. We like the Patriots to win the game, but are going to take the New York Jets +9 in this AFC battle.
