Another exciting week at NFL Betting Sites came to a close today with a lot of betting money exchanged. There was a lot of shuffling of lines as people hurried to get their last second wagers in before the games began on Sunday. As it turned out, it was the week of the upset in the NFL.
Pittsburgh (-1.5) vs. Baltimore was one of the most interesting matchups of the weekend. This was a game featuring bitter division rivals that both feature excellent defenses. Those that wagered on Joe Flacco and Ray Rice came out on top as Baltimore defeated Pittsburgh 17-14.
Another hotly anticipated Sunday showdown was Philadelphia (-6.5) vs. Washington. This game saw the return of long time Eagle quarterback Donovan Mcnabb to Philadelphia. He used the momentum of his return to stage the upset and defeat the Eagles 17-12. The upset was surely helped by Michael Vick’s rib injury.
Another stunning upset came from the Indianapolis (-7) vs. Jacksonville game. A lot of betting action was seen on Indianapolis leading up to Sunday as more and more people thought the highflying Colts offense would destroy the Jaguars. However, Jacksonville was able to hang with the Colts until the very end. Josh Scobee booted a 59-yard field goal as time expired to give Jacksonville the victory, 31-28.
Seattle (-1.5) entered their divisional matchup with St. Louis eager to take advantage of the Rams rookie quarterback Sam Bradford. Much to their surprise, Bradford looked like a seasoned veteran and guided St. Louis to a 20-3 win over Seattle.
While still able to pull off the victory, Atlanta (-7) could not cover the spread against San Francisco. The 49ers jumped out to an early 14-0 lead and looked to be in the driver’s seat until quarterback Matt Ryan and the Falcons turned things around. It still took a late field goal by Matt Bryant for Atlanta to defeat San Francisco.
